Joy

I've used mainly non-traditional Christmas colours this time - with the addition of some red.

New Year Celebrations

I wanted to use this digi for a New Year's card but it had 2013 on the shirt.  I got around that by using a dark green on her shirt which covered the numbers!

I'm back to using up some of my old scrapbooking papers that have small enough detail on them to be used on cards!  The image is from Dearie Dolls and has been coloured with copic markers.  I added a die-cut embellishment which I think is a Memory Box die.

Here is the sketch I worked from:

You can see I rotated it to suit the image!

Happy New Year

When I saw the diagonal on the Tic Tac Toe at Lia Stampz challenge, I just knew I had to go with a New Year's theme!

Brown Sugar - Happy New Year
http://brownsugarchallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2014/12/challenge-126-happy-new-year.html

I have used a brightly striped paper from Rosie's Studio for the background.  I hauled out one of my under-used Spellbinders dies and decided it was time to use it again!  The image is from Lia Stampz and has been coloured with some of my more vivid coloured copic markers.  The sentiment is from Cre8tive Hands and is also coloured with copic markers.  I added some faux stitching using a Distress Marker.  The shaped sequins are some that I bought a number of years ago and have rarely used.  I thought they were just right for a New Year's themed card.

Frosty The Snowman

This snowman is looking very frosty!

I have used a paper from a paper pad - I think this one might be by MME.  The image and sentiment are both from Eureka Stamps.  I added some Stickles - Star Dust to the falling snow in both.  The image itself is coloured with copic markers.  I matted with glitter cardstock from DCWV and added three glitter domes.

August

I managed to complete another page of my calendar.  This time I jumped to August.

Sewing Themed Card

My daughter has just been accepted into a course leading to a degree in Costume Design and Costume Construction.  So, I seem to be drawn to sewing themed images at the moment.

I have used a paper from a paper pad for this card.  The ribbon is from American Crafts.  I tied a bow using my Bow Easy.  The image and sentiment are from Deedee's Digis.  I added some Stickles to the sentiment and coloured the image with copic markers (with a touch of Stickles added!).  I used green cardstock for matting and added some large rhinestones from Rosie's Studio.

March

As soon as I see an Anything But A Card challenge, I think of my poor partly completed calendar and try and add to it!  This one was a bit more of a challenge as it had to include a sentiment!

I would like to enter my calendar page in these challenges:

I have used a scrapbook paper that I had in my stash.  The image/sentiment is from Bugaboo Stamps and has been coloured with copic markers R35, R32, YR07, YR04, YG09, YG06.   I added faux stitching with Distress Marker - Barn Door.  I wanted to add some stitching to the March page as this is when my daughter starts her degree in Costuming.

I'm thinking that maybe I should try and do another page before this challenge finishes - I still have eight months to complete of my calendar!  We'll see how today pans out.

Joy

Another non-traditionally coloured Christmas Card.  I felt like combining oranges, blues and purples to see how it would look.  I actually like this combination of colours:

I have used a non-Christmas paper here with a Christmas image.  I think the paper is from Kaisercraft.  I added some purple mesh ribbon across the card.  The image is from Imagine That and is part of the Progressive Challenge for December.  I uses non-traditional colours to help it stand out.  I added a bit of Stickles to the image too.  The matting is purple metallic paper.  I coloured some pearls with a dark blue copic (although they almost look black in the photo) and added these to the card.

Another Christmas Card!

Another excuse to use some of the Gingerbread themed DP that I have:

I have used a striped paper from a Christmas paper pad by Kaisercraft.  The image is from A Day For Daisies and is coloured with copic markers.  I continued the red and white stripes through the image. The green snowflake paper is an offcut from another card (I think this paper may also be from Kaisercraft).  I also added some red glitter domes.

I was inspired by the tree and baubles.

Christmas Decoration

When I first saw this image, I wanted to use it to make a Christmas decoration but it took me ages to actually get it done.  It made it in time for Christmas Day - but just.  However, I haven't got around to blogging in until Boxing Day!

I would like to enter my decoration in these challenges:

I have used an image from The East Wind and fussy cut it.  I flipped the image for the reverse side.  I originally had an idea of printing on to some sort of acetate but the shops were a bit busy by the time I had that idea and I knew I'd need some assistance from the shop keeper.  Probably should find something suitable when the shops are quiet and have it ready for next year!  I added some apricot coloured ribbon that had a bit of a sparkle through it.  I also added Stickles - Star Dust to the hat and Kindy Glitz - Gold to the scarf and top of the ornament.

Celebrate

As seems to be the case with a number of my favourite challenges, the challenge at Delightful Challenges is closing at the end of December.  The theme for the final challenge is "Celebrate" and I found I had the perfect image for this theme!  Another of my favourite challenges, Seems A Little Sketchy, is also closing so I used the sketch for this card:

I have used white cardstock to print the sentiment from Desert Diva.  The top part of the card was embossed with an embossing folder.  I covered the join between the two pieces with some white grosgrain ribbon.  The image is Laidback Lucy from Digital Delights.  I coloured her with copic markers E00 and E41 together with a white pen and liquid pearls.  I matted with some white glitter cardstock from DCWV.  I added some liquid pearls to the sentiment and some pearls to the embossed part of the card.

Finally, I would like to say Thank You to all those responsible for the Delightful Challenges blog.  Although, I have only joined in recently I have enjoyed the challenges and appreciate all the work that goes into hosting a challenge.

I would also like to say Thank You to all those responsible for the challenge at Seems A Little Sketchy. I love having sketches to kick start my mojo and there have been some great ones in this challenge.  This is the first of three cards I hope to be able to complete for this final challenge.

Thank You

I always seem to need Thank You cards.  This one I decided to make a more general one:

Let It Snow

As this is the first card that I have posted on Christmas Day (it is now 12.20pm here), I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my followers a Merry Christmas.

I've gone with a snowy colour scheme on this one too!  Of course, here in New Zealand we don't see the snow at Christmas as it is the middle of summer.  But we still do the traditional snowy scene on our cards!

Happy New Year

Another summery New Year's card.  With warmer temperatures at the moment and it really starting to feel like it is summer, I'm more inspired to create cards that reflect the season here (summer).  For me, New Year is all about cooling off from the humidity so a mermaid is an appropriate image!

Creative Craft Cottage - Colour Palette
http://creativecraftcottage.blogspot.co.nz/2014/12/challenge-30-colourchristmas.html

I have used a paper from Kaisercraft that had two of the colours of the colour palette at Creative Craft Cottage in it.  The paper has a sort of misted feel to it.  The image is from Dilly Beans and coloured with copic markers.  The sentiment is from Desert Diva and I have added some Liquid Pearls to the water bubbles.  I matted with some glitter cardstock from DCWV.  The flowers were white but I sprayed them with some Dylusions Spray.  The rhinestones centres were already there (I just had to be careful to wipe off the Dylusions Spray to keep them vibrant.  I have also used some lace from Sullivans and some pearls which I coloured with copic marker YG03.

New Year at the Beach

Here in New Zealand, we are in summer.  New Year is often spent at the beach so to me Beach Huts represent New Year.  It probably seems weird to those in the Northern Hemisphere!  Not sure that I'll get to the beach this year.  Unfortunately, it seems to be the hotspot of parties nowadays and not a place of relaxation.

I have used a paper from a new paper pad by Kaisercraft which is beach themed.  The image is from Delicious Doodles.  I merged a sentiment from Desert Diva with the image.  I liked the reflected sentiment - reminds me of a reflection in water.  I added minimal colour to the image as I wanted a more masculine feel to the card.  I added some rows of ric-rac braid to represent waves.

Happy New Year

I love using image for something other than what they were designed for!  This is one of those images:

The Outlawz Friday Challenge - Colour Palette
http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/friday-color/forum/topics/friday-coloring-challenge-19th-december-25th-December

I had originally intended for this card to be for Inspiration Destination Challenge #12 but time was against me.  By the time I completed the card Challenge #13 had been posted!

The image is from Beccy's Place and has been coloured with copic markers W2, W0, G29, E49, R17, R14, RV10.  The sentiment is from Desert Diva.  I used the colour palette from The Outlawz Friday Challenge for this card.  The matting is green cardstock from DCWV and I also used some green organza ribbon.

Traditional Christmas Colours

After colouring an owl blue yesterday, I decided today I would colour one green!  That way he matched my papers!

Celebrate the New Year

This card was a bit more challenging.  I had an idea of the girl jumping out from the starburst.  However, it was hard to embellish without losing the starburst so I have ended up keeping it relatively CAS.

I have used a paper from a paper pad which I edged with Distress Ink - Peacock Feathers.  I just got a set of the round applicators - so much easier to use than the rectangular ones!  I also edged the sentiment from Desert Diva  with the same Distress Ink.  The image is from Digi Stamps 4 Joy and coloured with copic markers and then fussy cut.  I also applied some Stickles to the trim on the girl's top.  I coloured some glitter domes with copic marker BG15 and added one to each corner.

I have used a paper from a Christmas paper pad by MME called "Joyous".  I used some glitter cardstock from DCWV for matting and for the darker blue circle.  The image is Hoot from Stitchy Bear Stamps.  I added some white liquid pearls around the dark blue circle.  I also used some white grosgrain ribbon from American Crafts.

Merry Creepmas

I do not do scary cards very well at all but I wasn't going to let a challenge get the better of me so I had to at least give it a go!  I also haven't managed to join in any of the challenges at Ikes World recently as time hasn't been on my side.  I've used a Halloween image paired with a typed Creepmas sentiment:

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
Ike's World - Merry Creepmas
http://ikesworldchallengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2014/12/ikesworld-challenges-28-merry-creepmas.html

I have used a dark paper from a Kaisercraft paper pad.  I added some spider web looking mesh ribbon over the top.  The image is from Ikes World and coloured with copic markers.  I then edged the piece with some Distress Ink - Black Soot before matting on to black cardstock from Rosie's Studio.  The sentiment is one I typed on the computer using a font called Spiderfingers.   I edged the sentiment with Black Soot and then matted on to black cardstock.   I added three small black pearls.

Some challenges definitely live up to the word "Challenge".  This was one of them!

Masculine Happy Birthday

I always have difficulty with masculine cards - often the papers are the stumbling block.  I found this paper pad when I was shopping yesterday that is largely masculine - so of course I had to buy it and then wanted to use it immediately!

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
Eureka Stamps - For The Birds
http://eurekastamps.blogspot.co.nz/2014/12/eureka-stamps-challenge-119-for-birds.html

I used a paper from a paper pad by Kaisercraft called "Hello Today".  The polka dot paper is a left over piece from another card that I didn't want to go to waste.  The image and sentiment are both from Eureka Stamps.  I added faux stitching around each of them using Distress Marker - Tea Dye.  The image has been coloured with copic markers G21, YG03, B93, Y00.

Merry Christmas

I'm heading off to the dentist in half an hour so have been trying to distract myself by doing some cards.  It's not really working that well particularly as I haven't been allowed to eat this morning and I'm hungry!

I decided to create with the freebie image from the progressive challenge at The Outlawz.  I hadn't been able to decide which way I was going with this image!

I have used a paper from Bo Bunny for this card.  The image is from Simply B Stamps and has been coloured with copic markers.  I added a touch of Glossy Accents to the skull on the star.  The sentiment is one that I typed on the computer a while back so I'm not sure which font I used.  I typed up a whole heap of greetings using different fonts but didn't take a note of which ones I used!

I also used some glitter cardstock from DCWV for the die-cut circle, some bakers twine and some green metal brads.

Feliz Navidad

I have used a yellow and blue combination for this card and I'm pleased with the look.  I snuck a bit of orange in there too!
